We are seeking a full-time Family Life Minister at a salary of approximately $40,000 plus housing. Candidates should feel comfortable performing the following duties.  Please submit resumes or contact the elders, 23363 Burbank Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA  91367.

DUTIES OF FAMILY LIFE MINISTER

  1. Provide counseling/spiritual advice to members as appropriate and advise elders when their involvement is needed.
  2. Initiate and direct local evangelism program in coordination with Local Evangelism Ministry.
  3. Organize and participate with the elders in a visitation program (i.e. sick, new members, visitors, absentees, etc.).
  4. Formulate and direct programs for church growth in consultation with the elders.
  5. Attend meetings of local ministers for gathering new ideas and refreshment of the spirit.
  6. Maintain a flexible time schedule in order to respond to ministerial responsibilities, understanding that the equivalent of one day per week should be reserved for personal and family needs.
  7. Fill the pulpit in the absence of the Pulpit Minister.
  8. Meet with deacons at all regular meetings and work with all Ministry Leaders to coordinate activities.
  9. Meet with elders as appropriate once quarterly or as requested for input and consultation.
  10. Answer phones, greet the public and convey important messages.
  11. Process, distribute and respond to incoming mail as appropriate.
  12. Obtain appropriate ministry leader approval for invoices to be paid, write, sign and distribute checks in payment of obligations and commitments.
  13. Be building attentive: note building and grounds needs and notify the Building and Grounds Ministry about corrections or improvements needed.  Control heating/cooling, lights, locking and unlocking.
  14. Represent Woodland Hills at Pepperdine new students orientation.
  15. Prepare schedule of worship activities and  participants.
  16. Maintain and publish the church calendar of events.
  17. Assemble and publish the church bulletin weekly (computer literacy is expected).
  18. Work with the Elders to reinitiate Sunday night and Wednesday night services/classes/activities.
  19. Teach the Sunday morning adult bible class, allowing others to substitute as appropriate.
  20. Direct and supervise the Youth Minister and work with the youth group.
  21. Act as Sunday worship coordinator.
  22. Work with Fellowship Ministry to organize fellowship and special events (such as welcome luncheon for newcomers, VBS, all nations under God, Thanksgiving remembrance, nativity program, Valentine’s marriage celebration, spring sing-along, Resurrection celebration, Mother’s Day, Father’s day, Pentecost celebration, annual church retreat, summer picnic, various seminars and workshops).
